Caterpillar road reclaimers use a series of rotating blades to pulverize the asphalt layer of a deteriorated roadway. The pulverized asphalt is then mixed with the underlying base material to create a stabilized subgrade. The reclaimer can also add asphalt emulsions or other binding agents during pulverization or during a separate mix pass. This helps to bind the new subgrade material together and prevents it from cracking or rutting.
Cat Rotary Mixers are the superior platform for full depth reclamation and soil stabilization. Both models have an efficient, mechanical rotor drive system with a Cat three-speed transmission at its heart.
Cat Rotary Mixers feature automatic depth control. Cat load control keeps engine speed at peak torque so production is continuously maximized. Four steering modes add to machine maneuverability.
Rotor options include a universal rotor dedicated to asphalt pulverization; a combination rotor equally useful for pulverization and stabilization; and two dedicated soil stabilization rotors for different soil types.
